Defend Legal Aid

The Justice for All coalition have called a vital rally in defence of legal aid. On Friday 3rd  June in London protesters will gather outside the Supreme Court and a gamut of influential and inspiring speakers has been lined up to provide a critique of the Government’s plan and to paint a picture of what the future holds without the safety net of legal aid.

The action is one of a number of events coordinated across the country designed to show the Coalition Government that a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds oppose tghe proposed changes to legal aid. JCWI encourages everyone who can come along to the rally to do so, and to bnring along your friends, workmates and neighbours.

Ken Clark, Minister for Justice, seems intent on not altering his plans to slash the budget for Legal Aid, insisting that an odd example of abuse is reason enough to deny the right to justice to a vast number of poorer people in the UK.

We say he must be stopped!
